Revision Surgery

Repairing previous work — the quiet specialty that reveals who Seoul’s best surgeons really are.

Revision surgery corrects unsatisfactory or complicated results from previous procedures — most commonly rhinoplasty, eyelid and contouring revisions. It is technically harder than primary surgery, costs 1.5–2× more, and demands sub-specialists; Seoul has the world’s deepest bench of them.

Scar tissue, depleted cartilage, and altered anatomy make every revision a bespoke problem. The surgeons we refer for revision publish or teach on it, maintain dedicated revision caseloads, and — tellingly — decline cases they judge better left alone. That judgment is what you are paying for.

Before you book anything

Wait until tissue has settled (typically 6–12 months post-op). Obtain your previous operative records if at all possible — we help patients request them, including from other Korean clinics. And get two opinions; we arrange both in one trip as standard for revision cases.

Usually 6–12 months, until swelling and scar tissue mature — revising too early means operating on a moving target. Exceptions exist for functional problems; those should be assessed promptly.

No — a large share of Seoul’s revision patients come from abroad. Records help but are not mandatory; imaging and examination can reconstruct most of what a revision surgeon needs.
